Membership

When you notify the us of your intention to save the lives of more animals by including the Nebraska Humane Society in your estate plans (designating the Nebraska Humane Society in your will or trust, or as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, investment account, real estate holdings, or other financial accounts or personal property), you are warmly invited to become a member of the Legacy League for the Animals.

This lifesaving membership group is reserved for the Nebraska Humane Society’s most dedicated of supporters. Supporters like you, who through action, create a more hopeful future for the animals and people who love them in our community.. By making such a momentous gift, your values of compassion and responsibility will be made timeless through the second chances your gift delivers to the animals being sheltered or served by the Nebraska Humane Society in an unknown and uncertain future. Making such a gift, regardless of size, sustains a legacy of love, dependability, and generosity towards injured, lost and abandoned animals, as well as animals facing other complex and urgent challenges.

Special events are held throughout the year for members of the Legacy League for the Animals, such as behind the scenes tours, lunches featuring impact updates and success stories.

Legacies are made step by step

Strong foundations are built brick by brick

strong foundations are build brick by brick

The Nebraska Humane Society engraves the name of each Legacy League for the Animals member on a brick to represent the stability and strength of its most treasured, passionate and dedicated supporters.

Every brick is embedded in a place of honor within the Nebraska Humane Society  landscape. Together, they form the Legacy Pathway. This Pathway represents the transformative impact individuals, acting together, can achieve when committed to a shared purpose and working toward a common goal – helping animals in need.

This pathway reflects members’ devotion - forever entwining their legacies with the Nebraska Humane Society ’s mission to protect, save and enrich the lives of animals in the communities we serve and provide them with hope, help and homes.
